Hello from Nashville! | leahdecesare.comYee haw! After decades of loudly disliking country music, about a dozen years ago, I heard “You’re Gonna Miss This” by Trace Atkins and cried. As a young mother, I loved the story in the song. From there I was drawn into the whole genre of country – for the stories and the heart.

I’m in Nashville visiting my sister (who has also come over to the country-side of life since moving to Music City three years ago). Tomorrow and Saturday, I’ll be spending time at the Southern Festival of Books. Can’t wait to meet and hear from so many other authors – members of my “tribe.”

Then on Sunday, I’m honored to be the speaker at the Nashville Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma as they celebrate Founders Day and their 70th Anniversary. (Amy and Veronica in Forks, Knives, and Spoons, are Kappas – like me, my sister, and now, my daughter, too.)Southern Festival of Books | leahdecesare.com

The event is being held at the home which is used in the TV series, Nashville, as Rayna James’s house. I’ll post pictures for sure! Keep an eye on my social media.

While in Nashville, I’m also planning to be a Book Fairy and plant a copy or two of Forks, Knives, and Spoons somewhere in the city.

So here’s a big “Howdy” from Nashville as my worlds intersect – books, Kappa, family and country music. Dropping off our oldest at college this year, the lyrics of “You’re Gonna Miss This” looping through my head, I marveled at the truth behind the triteness: Time Flies.
